Learning outcome 5 and 6
In a section titled Learning Outcomes 5 and 6, comment on what the chosen Significant Writing Project shows about your ability to cite sources using MLA guidelines and to make local revisions to address your typical errors. You will likely draw from the ways your class has discussed sentence error and MLA. Be sure to include specific examples (about 150-450 words).
My significant writing project on my Narrative story essay shows my MLA citing skills. I learned how to correctly cite my sources in this English 110 class by using The Little Seagull book. As you can see in my essay I have cited all of my sources including Julie Beck’s essay, Galen Strawson’s essay, and Katie Berger’s narrative project. Those are all of the sources that I used in my essay so I cited everything that I needed to cite. The Little Seagull book explains how to cite almost every kind of source. This helped me tremendously because it is hard to memorize how to cite all different sources. We talked about citations in class a good amount and also spend a class period at the library which helped go through the steps once again. This helped me become familiar with the outline. It was easy to use the step by step that the book provided to make sure that I put in all of the information that I needed. In class, we also talked a lot about different sentence errors including punctuation and word use. We watched videos which were very helpful for me because it gave me great examples. This class has not only taught me the basic writing skills that I will need but it has helped me boost my confidence because I know that I am a better writer now.
