• Blog 19: After perusing the remaining chapters from They Say/ I Say, choose one to read. Try to base your choice on a problem area that you would like to address. For your blog post, please summarize your choice chapter and explain why you chose to read it. Finally, please put what you learned to work in your revision. Explain what you changed and the impact that it had on your ongoing paper.

I chose chapter seventeen in They say/ I say to read. It is called “Analyze This” and is about writing in the social context. I chose this because I am writing about a social issue in my essay about this generation, and how they are losing sight of what matters by indulging in electronics. The chapter says that people are complicated, and to write a good paper you need to first bring in what others say and then carry in what you say. It gave a great template for an introduction and thesis. I learned that I have not added things that I should have in my essay if I want it to make sense. I am beginning to change my introduction and weaving in the social aspect of my paper upfront. The templates are very strong and when I put them in my writing it gives it a whole new feel. This chapter shows how you can examine people from different angels and find places that you have not yet explained. I still need to figure out what places need more evidence in my paper.
